Keyboard Not Working in BIOS – Need Help Troubleshooting!

Hi everyone, I’m having a frustrating issue where my USB keyboard doesn’t work at all when entering the BIOS/UEFI setup on my desktop (Windows 10, ASUS motherboard). The keyboard functions perfectly in Windows, but it’s completely unresponsive during boot—even when spamming Delete/F2. I’ve tried switching USB ports (2.0 and 3.0), using a different keyboard, and resetting CMOS. The BIOS is updated to the latest version, and Legacy USB Support is enabled. Could this be a motherboard compatibility issue? Are there BIOS settings I might have missed? I need access to adjust boot order, but without keyboard input, I’m stuck. Does anyone have suggestions for fixes or alternative ways to navigate BIOS (e.g., PS/2 keyboard)? Appreciate any advice—thanks!

I ran into a similar issue recently with my ASUS desktop. One thing I discovered was the impact of Fast Boot. Even though Legacy USB Support was enabled, Fast Boot can sometimes bypass full USB initialization during POST. Try entering Windows, then disable Fast Boot if it’s an option in your BIOS settings. If you can’t access the BIOS because of the keyboard issue, you might be able to disable fast boot from your Windows power settings (or using the ASUS utility if one is provided). Hope this helps!
