I'm building a new gaming PC with an Intel Core i9-14900K CPU. What is the best GPU to pair with it for high-end 4K gaming? I want to be able to max out settings and get high framerates in the latest AAA titles. Budget is not a major concern. Thoughts?
For a top-end 14900K build, I would recommend going with either an NVIDIA RTX 4090 or 4080. The 4090 is the absolute fastest consumer GPU available and will let you play anything at 4K with maxed out settings well above 60fps. The 4080 is a small step down in performance but is still extremely capable for 4K gaming and costs a few hundred dollars less. You can't go wrong with either for your use case.
The GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER
While the 4090 is indeed the king, don't overlook AMD options. The Radeon RX 7900 XTX is very close to the 4090 in 4K gaming performance while often being slightly cheaper. I'd say it's a better value overall. Plus AMD's upscaling solution (FSR) is more widely supported than NVIDIA's DLSS. Both are great high-end choices but I lean towards the 7900 XTX personally.
Another vote for the RTX 4090 here. I have one paired with a 13900K and it's an absolute beast for 4K gaming. I'm getting well over 100fps in demanding titles like Cyberpunk 2077 and Flight Simulator with everything cranked up. It's pricey but worth it if you want the best of the best. Make sure your case has good airflow and you have a large enough power supply (850W minimum).
Wait for RTX 5090.
@666_661 When is the release date ?
Likely in late 2024, see this topic:GeForce RTX 5090 Release Date ?
Depends on how much you would like to pay for GPU. Mostly, the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER and RTX 4080 SUPER are the best value.
RTX 4090 is of course the best choice, or you can waiting for RTX 5090.
14900K is not good for gaming, you'd better get 9800X3D.
