I recently purchased a Surface Pro 9 and I'm looking for a compatible docking station to enhance my workspace setup. I need a dock that supports multiple displays, has a variety of ports (USB-A, USB-C, Ethernet, etc.), and can charge my Surface Pro 9 simultaneously.

I would greatly appreciate any recommendations based on your experiences with docking stations that work well with the Surface Pro 9. Please share the specific models you've used, along with any pros and cons you've encountered.

Thank you in advance for your help!

If you're looking for the best docking station to pair with the new Surface Pro 9, I highly recommend checking out the Microsoft Surface Dock 2. Here's a quick rundown of why it's an excellent choice:

  • Specifically designed by Microsoft to seamlessly work with Surface devices like the Pro 9
  • Provides two front-facing USB-C ports with data, video, and charging delivery (up to 4K at 60Hz)
  • Includes two USB-A ports, audio jack, Ethernet port, and two DisplayPort outputs
  • Allows you to instantly turn your Surface Pro into a full desktop workstation
  • Sleek, low-profile design matches the aesthetic of Surface devices
  • Simple one-click setup and plug-and-play connectivity
  • Adds no additional bulk when carrying your Surface Pro around

The Surface Dock 2 is really the ultimate companion for the SP9. It unlocks the full productivity potential of the Surface Pro with a single cable connection. No drivers or software needed - just connect and you've got a ready-to-use desktop setup with monitors, peripherals, networking, etc. And when you detach, you're back to a slim 2-in-1 in seconds. At around $260, it's pricy but a worthwhile investment to maximize the versatility of the Surface Pro 9.

For the past few years, I've relied on the Surface Dock 2, and it's been an absolute pleasure. This versatile hub accommodates my entire workstation: dual displays, an external hard drive for backups, a phone charger, input devices (keyboard and mouse), and audio output. The connection process with my Surface has consistently been trouble-free.
