ngl i been tracking these leaks and honestly its kinda disappointing how long lenovo takes to fix software issues. the current Lenovo Legion Go 8.8 16GB 512GB is a beast on paper but the portrait screen issues and legion space being a mess really kills the vibe. unfortunately i dont expect the new Go 2 to magically fix their slow dev cycle, especially with the z2 extreme likely being so power hungry. if you cant wait until 2025 or you're worried about lenovos track record, here are better paths right now:

  • the ASUS ROG Ally X RC72LA 24GB RAM 1TB SSD is basically what the legion go should have been from the start. 24gb ram is the sweet spot for the igpu and the battery actually lasts for more than an hour.
  • if you want the best software experience, just get the Steam Deck OLED 512GB. i had issues with windows handhelds constantly and valve just makes it feel like a real console.
  • if you need more power than a z2 extreme will likely provide, grab an egpu like the GPD G1 AMD Radeon RX 7600M XT eGPU via usb4 for your current setup. really hope the legion go s isnt just some cheap e-waste version... we need better competition, not just more SKUs that dont get updated for months at a time.

If this becomes reality, I'll buy it instantly! While an OCulink port would be great (though unlikely), the essential features are 32GB RAM (24GB minimum) and the OLED VRR screen. That combination would be perfect.
