AMD has officially unveiled its next-generation Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 graphics cards, featuring the new RDNA4 architecture built on a 4nm manufacturing process. While detailed specifications, performance metrics, and pricing remain under wraps, AMD has confirmed several key aspects of these upcoming products.
The cards will be powered by the Navi 48 GPU, which is physically smaller than its Navi 31 and 32 predecessors. The RDNA4 architecture brings several improvements, including optimized compute units, second-generation AI accelerators, third-generation ray tracing accelerators, and an enhanced AMD Radiance Display Engine for better media encoding.
AMD has explained that the new naming convention (RX 9070) aims to simplify comparisons with competitors' products. The 9000 series will align with AMD's 8000 series integrated graphics found in Strix Halo APUs.

The Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 are scheduled for release in Q1 2025, with more details expected during AMD's upcoming livestreamed keynote.
