I'm looking to upgrade my setup and I'm eyeing a 1440p ultrawide monitor. I've heard these are pretty demanding, so I'm wondering what GPU would be the best choice. I'm aiming for high framerates and max settings in most modern games. What's your recommendation for the best GPU to drive a 1440p ultrawide without breaking a sweat?
GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER.
RTX 5070 is the best choice now.
Been gaming on my 3440x1440 ultrawide with an RTX 5070 for about 1 months now. It's the sweet spot for price/performance - handles most AAA titles at high/ultra with 80-100+ FPS. DLSS 3.5 is a game-changer for more demanding titles like Cyberpunk. Got mine for $600 which felt like a steal for the performance.
If the price is not issue, get the RTX 4090.
The best GPU is what you can afford. A 4080 Super is great if you can splurge. 4K-capable cards excel at 1440p too. Choose the 4080 Super for ray tracing and CUDA, or the 7900xtx for rasterization performance. I own a 7900xtx and it's fantastic for 3440x1440, 5120x1440, and 4K resolutions.
