I’ve been rocking a GeForce GTX 1650 in my rig for a few years now, and it has served me well. But as we step into 2024, I’m wondering if it’s still a viable choice for modern gaming and productivity tasks.

The GeForce GTX 1650 is still a capable budget graphics card in 2024 for 1080p gaming, but it's starting to show its age. The 4GB of GDDR5 memory is limiting in modern titles, and you'll need to lower graphic settings in most new games. However, it can still deliver playable frame rates of 60fps+ in competitive esports titles like Valorant, CS:GO, Overwatch, and more. The 1650 Super model is a better pick though, with faster GDDR6 memory and improved performance that closes the gap to the GTX 1660. But at the right price, the vanilla GTX 1650 remains a valid option for smooth 1080p gaming on a tight budget. Just don't expect to run the latest AAA blockbusters at high settings. Esports and less demanding games are where it shines for budget gamers today.

As someone who has been using a GTX 1650 for the past few years, I can say that it has served me well for the games I play. However, I recognize that it's not the most future-proof card. In 2024, the GTX 1650 will be about five years old, and the gaming landscape will have changed significantly. While it might still be usable for some lighter games or older titles, it will struggle with more demanding games released in the next few years. If you're buying a new GPU in 2024, it's best to look at newer options that offer better performance and features.

Depends on how you use it.
