I recently upgraded my GPU to the new GeForce RTX 4060 and want to make sure I have it paired with the right RAM to maximize performance.

So which RAM is recommended, DRR5 or DDR4 ?

@Jackson DDR5 6000 CL30 is recommended.

DDR5 is more and more popular these days. And the price also goes down.

Any DDR5 RAM are recommended, 6000MHz+ and CL30/CL32

DDR5 6000 CL30 or lower.

Running a 4060 myself. Get 16GB minimum - games like Warzone and Star Citizen use over 12GB regularly. 32GB is nice if you multitask or run Chrome with lots of tabs, but not essential for gaming.

DDR5 RAM at 6000 CL30.

I’d say 16GB DDR5 is the sweet spot right now. Something with decent speed, like 6000 MT/s and a low CL (around 30-36), pairs nicely with it, especially if you’re on a newer AMD or Intel rig. DDR4 works too if you’re upgrading an older system—3200 or 3600 MHz is fine—but DDR5 is more future-proof. 32GB is overkill unless you’re doing heavy editing or running a million background apps. Just make sure it’s dual-channel for max performance!
