Hi everyone, I'm in the market for a new laptop mainly for use at home and I'm hoping to get some recommendations. My budget is around $800. Here are the key things I'm looking for:

  • Good performance for everyday tasks like web browsing, streaming video, using Microsoft Office, etc. I don't do gaming or video editing.
  • Decent build quality and reliability. I want something that will last a few years.
  • Screen size around 14-15" with good resolution.
  • Lightweight for portability around the house.
  • Good battery life, at least 8 hours.
  • Reputable brand with good customer support.

I've been looking at models like the Lenovo IdeaPad 3, ASUS VivoBook 15, and Acer Aspire 5 that seem to offer a good balance of specs and price. But there are so many options out there and it's hard to figure out the best value.

So based on the criteria above, what specific laptop models would you recommend for home use in the $800 price range? I'd really appreciate any advice from those more knowledgeable than me. Thanks in advance!
