I just managed to get my hands on an AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT graphics card. I'm looking to build a new high-end gaming PC around this GPU.
My question is - what RAM would you all recommend to pair with the 7800 XT? DDR4 or DDR5 ?
Also, does RAM capacity matter much for gaming performance with a powerful GPU like the 7800 XT? Would 32GB be recommended or is 16GB still sufficient for smooth 1440p or 4K gaming?
Choose DDR4 or DDR5 RAM is based on your CPU and Motherboard. Here are some recommendations of DDR4 RAM and DDR5 RAM:
DDR4 RAM AMD Build:
DDR5 RAM AMD Build:
DDR4 RAM Intel Build:
DDR5 RAM Intel Build:
@digitaldreamer This is helpful for choosing RAM, but could you also provide some insight on how much RAM capacity (e.g., 16GB vs. 32GB) is recommended for different types of users?
@digitaldreamer DDR5 6000 CL28 is here: https://www.amazon.com/s?k=6000+cl28&tag=5422-20
DDR4 RAM with AMD Ryzen 5000 series CPUs are also good choice.
Unless you're doing serious productivity work, 16GB of DDR5 should still be plenty for gaming with a 7800 XT. I'd suggest these 16GB kits.
I recommend G.Skill DDR5 RAM.
