I'm building a new gaming PC with an AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D and I'm looking for some advice on choosing the right RAM. I want to get the best performance possible for gaming and some light content creation work.

What RAM speed and timings would you recommend for this CPU?

Any suggestions on specific RAM kits that would work well with the Ryzen 7 7800X3D would be greatly appreciated!

6000mt/s and cl30 is the sweet spot for Ryzen 7 7800X3D, for example: G.SKILL Trident Z5 Neo RGB Series

@camera_paler 6000 CL28 is better, both Gskill and Corsair released: https://www.amazon.com/s?k=ddr5+6000+cl28+expo&tag=5422-20

A good sweet spot is DDR5-6000 CL30 or CL32. These kits offer excellent performance. Brands like G.Skill, Corsair, and TeamGroup all offer solid options in this range.

X3D required less important on RAM speed and latency than non-X3D.

DDR5-6000 and CL30.

Get G.SKILL Trident Z5 Neo RGB Series (AMD Expo) DDR5 RAM 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MT/s CL30-38-38-96: https://www.amazon.com/G-Skill-Trident-288-Pin-CL30-38-38-96-F5-6000J3038F16GX2-TZ5NR/dp/B0BF8FVLSL/?tag=6890-20

I recommend choosing a high-performance DDR5 memory kit with the following specifications:

  1. Speed: DDR5-6000 or higher. The Ryzen 7 7800X3D supports DDR5 memory, and higher frequencies can provide better performance. Look for kits rated at DDR5-6000, DDR5-6400, or even higher if your budget allows.

  2. Capacity: 32GB (2x16GB) is a good starting point for most users. If you have more demanding needs, like heavy content creation or virtualization, consider 64GB (2x32GB or 4x16GB).

  3. Timings: Look for kits with tight timings, such as CL36 or lower, for better performance at a given frequency.

  4. Compatibility: Ensure that the RAM kit is compatible with your motherboard by checking its Qualified Vendor List (QVL).

Some well-regarded options include:

  • G.Skill Trident Z5 RGB DDR5-6000 CL36
  • Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB DDR5-6400 CL38
  • Kingston Fury Beast DDR5-6000 CL40

Remember to enable the XMP (Extreme Memory Profile) in your BIOS to run the memory at its rated speed. Also, keep in mind that higher-frequency and lower-latency kits may come at a premium price.

The sweet spot is 6000MHz CL30.

For 7000 series CPUs, 6000 CL30 is the best choice.

G.Skill has released Royal series DDR5 RAM. You can take a look.

G.SKILL Trident Z5 Neo RGB 6000 CL30 is recommended.

I use TEAMGROUP T-Force Delta RGB DDR5, works great.

For the 7800X3D, any DDR5 RAM suffices due to its 3D V-Cache. Budget DDR5 4800 CL48 performs similarly to premium DDR5 7200 CL28, as X3D CPUs are less sensitive to RAM speed. For non-X3D CPUs, DDR5 6000 CL36 offers the best price-to-performance ratio, with DDR5 5600 CL32 as a close alternative. DDR5 6800 CL34 provides marginally better performance but at a higher cost.

Anyone uses DDR5 8000 Memory?

@Ashley DDR5 6000 is more stable.
