Long-time Intel user here making the switch to AMD with the Ryzen 9 9900X. I'm planning a build for gaming and creative work (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, and light 3D modeling) and need motherboard advice.

Main questions:

1. Would an X670 motherboard be suitable, or should I wait for the new motherboard series?
2. Are the upcoming motherboards likely to be overkill for my use case?

Since I'm new to the AMD ecosystem, I'd also appreciate any tips for Intel-to-AMD transition.

Build focus:

• Gaming
• Adobe Creative Suite (PS, AI, AE)
• Basic 3D modeling
• No extreme overclocking planned
