I recently upgraded my rig with an RTX 4060, and now I'm looking to pair it with the perfect monitor. I'm torn between 1080p and 1440p options, considering the card's performance. What refresh rate should I aim for? Is G-Sync a must-have? I'm mainly into FPS games and some RPGs, so I'd love a balance between smooth gameplay and visual quality. What monitor are you using with your RTX 4060, and how's your experience? Any recommendations for specific models that would make the most of this GPU? Thanks in advance for your input!
For your use case, I'd recommend going with a 1440p monitor. The 4060 can handle 1440p pretty well in most games, and you'll get a nice boost in visual quality over 1080p. As for refresh rate, aim for at least 144Hz for smooth gameplay in FPS titles.
Here are some recommended monitors for RTX 4060:
Another vote for 1440p. Using the Gigabyte M27Q-X with my 4060. Esports titles run flawlessly at 240Hz, while story games look stunning at 1440p even if they run closer to 80-100 fps. DLSS helps a ton in demanding games. Don't let anyone tell you the 4060 can't handle 1440p - it absolutely can.
Choosing between 1080p and 1440p 144Hz monitors:
Both options provide smooth 144Hz gameplay, but 1080p is easier to run at high settings.
Choose any gaming monitor from ASUS or LG.
Any 1080p monitor works with RTX 4060, but choose one with at least 144Hz refresh rate.
