I've been hearing a lot about 2K displays lately, but I'm not entirely sure what resolution that actually refers to. Is it exactly 2000 pixels wide? How does it compare to 1080p or 4K? Can anyone break down what 2K resolution really means in terms of pixel dimensions? Thanks in advance!

The term "2K" can be a bit confusing. It doesn't actually refer to exactly 2000 pixels wide. In the digital cinema world, 2K officially means 2048x1080 pixels. But for consumer displays, 2K typically refers to 1920x1080 (also known as 1080p) or sometimes 2560x1440 resolution.

To compare:

• 1080p: 1920x1080 (2.1 megapixels)

• 2K: Usually 2560x1440 (3.7 megapixels)

• 4K: 3840x2160 (8.3 megapixels)

So 2K is a step up from 1080p, but not as high as 4K. Hope that helps clarify things!
