I'm looking to build a new AMD AM5 system and want to go with the X670 chipset for the best features and performance. What do you think is currently the best X670 motherboard that provides great value for the money? I don't need the absolute top-end board, but want something with solid VRMs, features and reliability without spending more than I need to. Appreciate any suggestions!

@ccc-122 I have ROG Strix X670E-E, overall it is a solid mid-range AM5 motherboard. Performance is excellent, handling even the Ryzen 9 7950X well with overclocking potential. It balances features and price nicely, though it's not the most extreme overclocking board.

Minor cons include DDR5-6400 official limit and it's pricier than budget options. Overall, it's a great choice for high-end Ryzen 7000 builds, offering strong performance without excessive features.

ROG Crosshair X670E Hero is a good motherboard, only it is a bit expensive.

@matthew0000 Hope it will have Black Friday deals this year.

Why specifically x670? Consider b650e boards, offering PCIe M.2, x16 slots, debug screens, etc., at lower prices. They provide excellent features for less.

B650 motherboards are better for money. 🤨

@valler Agree, especially for X3D CPUs.

Here are a couple of solid options to consider:

  1. ASUS ROG Strix X670E-F Gaming WiFi

    • Robust 18+2 phase VRM with 110A smart power stages
    • Passive chipset heatsink and extensive VRM heatsinks for great thermals
    • PCIe 5.0 x16 slot and PCIe 5.0 M.2 slot for the latest high-speed components
    • 2.5 GbE LAN, WiFi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.2 for fast, reliable networking
    • High-end audio with ALC4080 codec and Savitech SV3H712 amplifier
    • Plenty of USB ports including USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 and Type-C
    • Q-Release button and pre-mounted I/O shield for easier installation
    • Priced very reasonably for the features and performance (~$450)
  2. Gigabyte X670 AORUS Elite AX

    • Solid 16+2+2 direct digital VRM with 70A power stages
    • Fins-Array II heatsinks, thermal guards, and M.2 thermal baseplate for excellent cooling
    • PCIe 5.0 x16 slot and PCIe 4.0 M.2 slots
    • 2.5 GbE LAN, WiFi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity
    • Realtek ALC897 audio codec and audio noise guard
    • 13 USB ports on the rear I/O including 2x USB 3.2 Gen2x2 Type-C
    • Q-Flash Plus for BIOS updates without a CPU
    • Great value with high-end core features (~$350)

Both of these boards provide a very solid foundation for an AM5 build, with quality power delivery, cooling, and features. The ASUS board is a bit higher-end with an even beefier VRM, PCIe 5.0 M.2, and a few extra bells and whistles. But the Gigabyte AORUS Elite is an excellent choice if you want to save a bit of money while still getting a very capable motherboard.

X670E HERO is very powerful, worth the money.

@bauerlost A bit expensive for me.

If you can stretch your budget a bit, the Gigabyte X670 AORUS Elite AX is an excellent choice. It has robust VRMs, great connectivity options, and Gigabyte's user-friendly BIOS. While it's pricier than some alternatives, the build quality and features justify the cost for those who can afford it.

All X670E motherboards are high-quality, so focus on the features you need. Asus high-end and Asrock Taichi boards offer USB 4.0. Gigabyte boards excel in VRM quality, running cooler. Note that top-tier boards are often E-ATX size, larger than standard ATX. Consider your budget and case compatibility when selecting a motherboard.

Why X670, b650 motherboards are also great, especially for X3D CPUs.

The best X670 motherboard for the money is B650 motherboard, especially for X3D CPUs.

All X670/X670E motherboards share the same inherent longevity and compatibility, regardless of price. A $500 - $800 motherboard won′t last longer than 200 - $300 one. Differences lie in features and pricing, which we can't advise on without knowing your needs. If you have no specific requirements, choose any X670E board you like.

I love MSI MAG X670E Tomahawk WiFi.
