I'm in the process of building a high-end workstation for 4K and 8K video editing, and I've already decided on an Intel Core i9-14900K CPU and a RTX 4090 GPU. Now, I'm looking for recommendations on a suitable motherboard to complement these powerhouse components.

I'm considering Z790 chipset boards, but I'm open to suggestions. My priorities are excellent VRM for stable overclocking, multiple PCIe 5.0 slots, robust connectivity (including Thunderbolt 4), and support for high-speed DDR5 RAM.

Any good suggestions ?

Mid-tier motherboards in the 250350 range offer good value. Asus and MSI are reliable brands.

The RTX 4090 provides excellent performance per dollar, but its necessity depends on your work. For 3D rendering, it's ideal. However, for After Effects or Premiere Pro, investing in 128GB RAM might be more beneficial.
